Dear reader,

You did it! This year, your support for our cause brought with it new hopes for the young students of a 100 new TCF schools. At TCF each New Year brings with it beautiful dreams and reinvigorated passion. The academic year 2007, however, brought with it the launch of a new era. Over the past year, TCF chapters deliberated over their strategies, needs and goals. As a result of this, our vision and mission has been fine-tuned to include our commitment to make the citizens of Pakistan Agents of Positive Change.

Our students are equipped with the knowledge that benefits them individually and seeps through into their communities – hence each one of a TCF beneficiary is an Agent of Positive Change. An example of this change is in the form of a Christian couple from Vinder, Baluchistan. Belonging to a community where education, especially that of females, is discouraged, factory worker Asim envisions a bright future for his daughters, Simran and Huma. His wife, a maid, is a popular staff member at TCF Primary School – Kings Friendship Campus. Simran and Huma are proud students in the same school. Their mother explains their zeal for education – “Even when they are sick, my daughters insist on going to school. That’s how much they love it here.”

It is our resolution for the year 2008 to strive with renewed vigor towards the realization of more dreams into realities. Join us in celebrating your successes and pray that our bond only grows stronger in the coming months – a bond, which brings with it Positive Change in the lives of thousands of deserving Pakistani children each year.

matriculation and intermediate exams, Saba Hameed added pride to TCF by securing Third Position in the Lahore Board of Intermediate Examination. Daughter of a farmer in a village near Lahore, Saba has been with TCF since Grade VI. Saba explained that the reason behind her success was in, “preparing as though we have an exam the very next day.”

In a prestigious ceremony arranged by the Board at Alhamra Art Centre-Lahore, along with the School Principal, Saba had the privilege to receive a medal and a certificate of distinction directly from the Minister of Education Mian Imran Masood. Saba Hameed, with her remarkable performance, has paved the way for her community to see for themselves the remarkable changes education can bring to the quality of one’s life.
