Workshop on Effective Communication
STCF arranged a highly interactive, lively and informative workshop for TCF Team members including Chairman Mr. Arshad Abdulla, Director Mr. Mushtaq Chhapra, CEO Lt. Gen. (R) S P Shahid and all Regional Managers. The workshop titled "Effective Communication & Protocol” was held in Karachi on November 3, 2007. It was conducted by School of Leadership (SOL). The basic aim was to build a proactive and responsive work environment through effective communication at all levels.



Indianapolis – September 8, 2007
Pakistan American Friendship Association held its second fundraising event to benefit TCF and raised funds for the completion of TCF Primary School - Campus of Hope, located in the earthquake affected area of Batagram, NWFP. The school became operational in August 2007. The event was attended by 275 guests and included a cross section of several community groups. Todd Rokita, Indiana Secretary of State, was among the honored guests. National City Bank and UpNet were corporate sponsors of the event. The program included a silent auction, a live auction, dinner and an entertaining performance by Pakistani Pop icon Alamgir.

Connecticut – September 29, 2007
About 100 people from 30 families came together to share Iftar, raise awareness for TCF and launch a Zakat campaign in the community. The event was successful in raising support-a-school funds for TCF School – Sophia Campus, a TCF Project being funded by Northeast Region Chapter.

San Francisco – November 17, 2007

from American local schools and donates them to the schools in the developing countries. This is the first time WBFN has donated its books to Pakistan and TCF is the largest recipient of this grant. There are Encyclopedias in the collection as well as books on subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Geography.

The Credit Suisse Group & TCF
Credit Suisse Group (CSG) Foundation has partnered with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) to support an extensive scholarship program for less privileged children in Pakistan. The CSG Foundation has established an endowment fund, which will support 100 TCF students from Pre-Primary to Matriculation. This is the second grant from CSG. Previously they donated in 2006 to TCF for a Primary School in the earthquake-affected area of Mansehra.

Nottingham City Council raises funds for a TCF School
Money raised by people of Nottingham, UK to help the victims of the October 8, 2005 Earthquake in Pakistan, is to be used to build and run a TCF school in one of the devastated areas called Khanian Village, Mansehra district of North West Frontier Province. The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councilor Mohammed Munir, launched an appeal days after the earthquake struck Northern parts of Pakistan. CEO TCF Lt. Gen. (R) S P Shahid said, “The children of Khanian will always cherish the generosity of people of Nottingham in helping them recreate their dreams through quality education. Such acts are greatly helping TCF advance towards its vision to remove barriers of class and privilege to make citizens of Pakistan agents of positive change.”



Habib Mamoon
Russia's cherished storyteller and internationally acclaimed dramatist and playwright Anton Chekhov is known for his tragedies. One of his most popular plays Uncle Vanya (1896) is set, as are all Chekhov’s plays, against the background of pre-Revolutionary Russia near the turn of the century. This masterpiece is a heady concoction of humour, hope and loss - loss of romantic love, of ambition, of ideals, of illusions. It has been artfully adapted into Habib Mamoon by Sub-Continent’s popular writer Zahida Zaidi. In a bid to revive quality theatre in Karachi, National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) put up its first public production, Zahida Zaidi’s Habib Mamoon at the Arts Council Theatre. It was produced and directed by Chairman NAPA, Zia Mohyeddin. The theatrical feat was a fundraising event for TCF and it was meticulously organized by STCF and the Marketing Department of TCF. Theatre enthusiasts and ardent art lovers were provided 10 nights of top quality drama – from August 24 till September 02 2007. The cast boasted of stalwarts like Talat Hussain, Rahat Kazmi, Arshad Mahmud, Zaheen Tahira and seasoned artists like Nyla Jaffry, Anjum Ayaz and Jahanara Hai. Aymen Ali, a final year student of NAPA, made her theatrical debut
